The technique you choose has the biggest impact on your treatment plan. Permanent scalp micropigmentation is designed to last for years between top-ups, while semi-permanent tricopigmentation fades naturally within 12-24 months and typically needs an annual refresh. Both use the same core process of implanting thousands of microdots into the scalp to simulate hair follicles, so many clients use their free consultation to decide between the two before anything else is discussed.

How much area needs treating also matters. A full head of scalp micropigmentation to mimic a shaved look involves more coverage than adding density to a thinning patch, a receding hairline, or camouflaging a scar from a previous hair transplant, and each of these is planned individually rather than from a single rate card. Scar camouflage for FUE and FUT hair transplant scars, and other imperfections, is treated as its own consideration too, since it's often combined with a wider density or hairline plan rather than being a single standalone add-on.
